This job entails taking orders for and serving food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner while using suggestive selling techniques. Regularly greet, communicate and converse with all guests. Set up and maintain 203 in an attractive looking, organized, clean and standardized presentation. Make and serve coffee drinks. Educate and inform customers about the differences among coffee beans, coffee preparation and home brewing methods. Continuously check food to ascertain that appearance, temperature, and portions are correct. Be knowledgeable of all menu items. Be prepared to answer any guest questions in a direct, concise way. The candidate must also clear and clean tables as they are vacated. Listen and respond to guest requests or concerns. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Two years’ experience as barista or food server in full service restaurant is preferred. High school or equivalent education required. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6-8 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. frequently. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
