Job description

Position: Finance & Operations Manager
Our company, Veriheal, is a telehealth platform that connects patients with doctors for medical cannabis consultations, and other areas of the wellness/alternative medicine industries. We are based in Denver with staff located around the world, and are seeking a dedicated and innovative Finance & Operations Manager to join our growing team in our Denver office, located in the Uptown/City Park neighborhood. As the Finance & Operations Manager at Veriheal, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our organization. You will oversee financial planning and analysis, budget management, and day-to-day operations to support our mission and strategic objectives. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong financial acumen, and exceptional leadership skills to drive performance and growth in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and key performance indicators, and provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Conduct financial analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and partnerships to support long-term financial sustainability and expansion.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Streamline processes and implement operational best practices to enhance organizational effectiveness and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflow, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Identify and assess financial and operational risks, and develop strategies to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Responsible for monthly P&L reporting that drives understanding of variances against forecast and budget.
  • Review and submit financial reports in compliance with U.S. government and other funder regulations.
  • Develop the annual budget, financial analyses, funding scenarios, and projections for internal and external use.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging risks and market trends to proactively address potential threats to the organization.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Technical Qualifications and Skill Sets:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial management and operations leadership, preferably in the healthcare, wellness, legal cannabis, or alternative medicine industry.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, high level of accounting understanding.
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.
  • Minimum 5 years finance and /or accounting experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with developing complex financial models.
  • Experience executing M&A or private equity transactions a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to finance and operations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to think critically, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
