Compensation Analyst - Dallas, TX

Varsity Brands is looking to add a Compensation Analyst to the HR team. The position is a newly created role, reporting to the Compensation Manager. As a detail-oriented, self-driven, innovative and forward-thinking individual, you will support the Company’s compensation initiatives to attract, motivate and reward the best talent through the evaluation, analysis and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. This includes day-to-day ownership of base pay, management incentives, sales commissions, and in some cases, long-term compensation programs.

What you will do:

  • Maintains Compensation related Workday fields and components by completing quarterly data validation exercises partnering with HR ensure eligibility and participation.
  • Participates in salary and compensation practice surveys. Ensures accurate and complete survey submission by established vendor deadlines.
  • Participate in updating company-wide job architecture by evaluating roles across all business units and placing them in the structure.
  • Evaluates job responsibilities and qualifications to recommend promotional or market-based salary adjustments and appropriate title or level within the company. Ensure alignment with internal and external market conditions, while ensuring compliance with external laws and internal guidelines, policies, and practices.
  • Conducts appropriate analysis to evaluate existing or proposed compensation programs, including (but not limited to) base and incentive pay structures. Uses objective analysis to recommend optimum solutions that align with the Company’s strategic goals on a variety of projects and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Creates and maintains all compensation documents, including compilation of policy and language changes to incentive compensation programs.
  • Work with the HRIS team and business unit HR teams to complete data changes within the payroll or other HR systems.
  • Participates in and supports the Annual Merit Increase and Talent Review cycles.
  • Participates merit budgets and associated analysis.
  • Responsible for all eligibility, budgeting, payouts, and communication of annual discretionary incentive plans
  • Develop and manage Total Reward Statements for annual delivery to all employees at the Company. Will work with members of the Total Rewards team to deliver these statements
  • Participates in documenting jobs by writing or reviewing job descriptions and ensuring overtime eligibility classification is compliant with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), or appropriate local laws.

What you bring:

  • 3 years of relevant compensation, human resources, finance, or general business experience
  • Undergraduate degree (BA or BS) required
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and/or Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) Certification preferred.
  • emonstrated success working with cross functional teams at both a corporate and operating entity level
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft® Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Hands-on experience working with multiple partners to drive solutions to completion
