Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk.
BOTH WEEKDAY ONLY AND WEEKEND ONLY POSITION AVAILABLE
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, verifying their information and insurance coverage
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Collect co-pays and payments from patients
- Maintain patient records, including updating personal information and medical history
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes, emails, and mail
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
