Validity is Hiring a Revenue Analyst Near Boston, MA

About the Role
Validity is hiring an ambitious, recent/upcoming 2024 Finance or Accounting graduate to join our high performing team as a Revenue Analyst I to learn and grow within our revenue operations department. Reporting to the Manager – Revenue Accounting, you will explore responsibilities and roles across revenue accounting by rotating through cross-functional teams getting experience intended to accelerate early career development.The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance or Accounting with a history of academic success, prior internship/co-op experience as well as an interest in learning about the SaaS industry.
This position has a hybrid work schedule requiring you to work in our Boston corporate office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparation of revenue-related entries as part of the monthly financial close process in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Assist in key month-end revenue close procedures and prepare month end reconciliations for deferred revenue and accounts receivable.
  • Daily collection follow-up using Yay Pay tracking software.
  • Collaborate with the billing and collection teams for any billing discrepancies identified during the month end close process.
  • Participate in the financial audit and preparation of required audit support schedules.
  • Learn and assist in processing commission calculations in Xactly leading to payments and general ledger journal entries.
  • Respond to commissions inquiries which includes conducting research and preparing commission related adjustments.
  • Assist in providing commission expenses reporting and analytics.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business.
  • Prior experience working in a corporate environment via summer job or internship.
  • Basic understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Prior exposure to NetSuite or similar ERP system; high level of proficiency in Excel; experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately document work performed.
  • Highly organized, detail and process-oriented; develops and executes project plans within designated timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high growth, fast- paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make judgment-based decisions with a good sense for when escalation and additional communication may be necessary.
  • Self-starter wiling to think outside of the box and recommend process improvements.
  • Highest quality and ethical standards
