VALCOURT EXTERIOR BUILDING SERVICES OF FLORIDA LLC is Hiring an Estimator Near Bradenton, FL

Working with employees, clients, specifying engineers, and vendors; and managing an estimate from beginning to end. This position reports to management within the estimating department and manage exiting estimating assistant employee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attending pre-bid meetings (some overnight traveling may be required).
  • Reading and understanding project manuals.
  • Understanding scope of work, assisting in carrying out site visits measuring/taking off and gathering data of buildings and meeting subcontractors.
  • Communicate effectively with the whole estimating department, on delivery dates and any uploading requirements.
  • Supporting the estimating team with Sub-contractor and materials quote requests.
  • Research and recruit new subcontractors as required for different trades.
  • Updating quotations received from sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare initial cost estimates for projects of varying size and complexity, including materials price lists, labor costs and equipment.

Work Authorization Requirements

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Be a self-starter with the ability to manage a greater workload over time.
  • Be analytical, excellent with numbers, detailed, and able to problem solve on each unique project.
  • Estimating and or administration experience is desirable but no essential.
  • Competent in the use of recognized electronic spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Have the ambition to learn and develop a career in estimating.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR
  • At least five years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
