Student Marketing Coordinator - University Store

JOB PURPOSE: 

As a Student Marketing Coordinator at the University Store, your primary responsibility will be to generate captivating content that resonates with our audience. We're looking for a current student at UW who embodies creativity, autonomy, and a collaborative spirit, ready to contribute innovative ideas to our objectives. Whether it's capturing the essence of campus events, crafting compelling social media campaigns, or showcasing our merchandise, your content will be instrumental in portraying the dynamic atmosphere of the University Store.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement marketing and social media strategies, coordinating with department stakeholders for maximum effectiveness
  • Manage the campus store's presence on social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, ensuring regular and engaging content
  • Collaborate with the team to promote events and communications through various channels, including social media, texting, print, and online newsletters
  • Serve as an advocate for the University Store both on campus and in social media spaces, addressing inquiries and questions
  • Monitor and analyze benchmarks for social media program impact, reporting on campaign effectiveness to optimize results
  • Stay updated on trends in social media tools, trends, and applications to leverage emerging opportunities
  • Facilitate and coordinate with photographers to ensure high-quality visual content aligns with brand identity
  • Provide website and graphic design support as needed to maintain a cohesive marketing presence

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current student at the University of Wyoming
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours a week
  • Minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA (must be maintained during employment)
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging content
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm for promoting and representing the University Store on campus and online

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing marketing or social media strategies
  • Proficiency in using social media analytics tools to track and analyze performance metrics
  • Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and developments
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Previous experience in event promotion or coordination is advantageous
  • Knowledge of campus culture and activities at the University of Wyoming
  • Familiarity with photography and basic photo editing skills
  • Understanding of branding principles and ability to maintain brand consistency across various channels
  • Passion for creative storytelling and showcasing the unique aspects of campus life
