USUI International is Hiring an EHS Manager Near Sharonville, OH

TITLE: EHS Manager
DUTIES:
  • Design, implement, manage, and monitor environmental, health and safety programs in accordance with company guidelines and applicable laws and assist in efforts to determine methods for compliance.
  • Perform documented safety and environmental audits and making recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
  • Make recommendations to management concerning disciplinary actions when safety violations occur.
  • Prepare and submit federal, state, and local compliance reports and permits according to applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead incident investigations (including near-misses, injuries, illnesses, property damage, vehicle collisions, chemical releases, and the like) within assigned area of responsibility as well as OSHA investigations. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of all incidents and make recommendations for changes or improvements to programs, policy, procedures, and/or training. Perform audits and inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Provide guidance and assistance for processing and managing work-related injuries and illnesses in accordance with Federal & State regulations, insurance, and company requirements.
  • Manage Workers Compensation program and ensure that the return-to-work program is implemented effectively.
  • Maintain response to injury program with onsite responders and off-site medical providers/facility.
  • Coordinate and participate in site emergency, fire, and rescue drills. Conduct regular safety meetings and employee safety training programs. Implement site security program to ensure the site is controlled during both on and off hours.
  • Purchase all clean room items, company uniforms, and other various uniforms.
  • 4S Champion.
  • Training of all safety and environmental related activities.
  • Participate and/or lead various audits.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS Degree
  • Formal safety certification (CHMM, CIH, CSP, CSHO, etc) preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing plant required.
  • Experience working with and proven understanding of various governmental regulations (e.g. OSHA, EPA).
  • Experience working with air emissions, wastewater, and other potentially hazardous pollutants.
  • Solid history of working with regulatory agencies.
  • Customer service focused; ability to influence; ability to communicate diplomatically; excellent negotiations skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet applications, databases, government systems, etc. and PLEX.
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills for implementing programs and policies.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
  • CPR, First Aid, & AED certified.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be capable of handling confidential information.
