Buyer (Defense)

Duration: 2 year contract
Job Description:
As a Buyer, a qualified candidate will provide exemplary service to internal stakeholders by validating and satisfying requirements efficiently and effectively, as well as interact with internal supplier management teams and external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize, plan, and manage daily workflow, purchasing tasks, status updates, and reporting.
- Perform traditional purchasing transactional and administrative duties related to Defense procurement.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, working across all areas of the business and region.
- Ensure supplier identification and sourcing recommendations are in accordance with agreed commodity strategies and within the commercial framework.
- Identify and recommend workflow process efficiency improvements.
- Operate and comply with all required purchasing processes, procedures, and systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree and 3 years of experience in customer service, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain OR Bachelors degree and 1 year of relevant experience OR Master’s degree/PhD.
- In lieu of degree, 5 years of experience in customer service, purchasing, logistics or supply chain.
- To be considered for this role, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management in a U.S. Defense manufacturing environment.
