The incumbent provides administrative and programmatic support to OGA’s portfolio of international projects as well as OGA’s strategic initiatives.
In this position, you will:
Coordinate Smithsonian’s international projects, including providing administrative support to both ongoing projects as well as the start-up and close-out of projects.
Participates in facilitating the Global Activities Tracking Process (GATP) and the Global Activities Committee (GAC); including but not limited to leading communications with SI staff.
Support project teams, both in DC and in the field, in the day-to-day coordination of project activities by organizing meetings, making travel arrangements, editing and formatting reports, and preparing approval documents as required by donor.

Experience: Grade 07: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as experience supporting projects in foreign country locations, within a complex operating environment involving multiple counterparts as well as one year of experience assisting on international operations.
Experience: Grade 09: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as coordinating administrative and programmatic work for international projects, as well as providing support across all parts of international project management and supporting initiatives that will streamline reporting and tracking of international programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
