US Export-Import Bank of the United States is Hiring a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST Near Miami, FL

Duties

Please Note: Employees will be required to report to their assigned office location at least 2 day per week for non-supervisory positions and 3 days per week for supervisory/managerial positions unless the position advertised is designated as a remote-only position.

This position is located in the Office of Small Business (OSB). OSB is responsible for strategic sales and marketing of all EXIM Bank programs, products and services. This position will service as a Regional Director within our Reginal Sales Division.
At the full performance level, typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Meets and/or exceeds identification of prospective customers resulting in bank authorizations.
  • Initiates customer contacts on behalf of EXIM.
  • Provides outreach and counseling services related to EXIM's services and products.
  • Participates in the development of EXIM's program and marketing literature for the assigned target market
  • - development, publication, and dissemination to the public.
  • Trains the general exporting public and related government personnel on function, process, and programs of EXIM.
  • Engages in pro-active business development in emerging and rural markets, to small businesses and financial institutions.
  • Manages prospective exporter relationships through the customer relationship management (CRM) database related to the assigned market area.
  • Works toward the achievement of customer identification goals and any other performance goals set by senior management and ensures that qualified leads are contacted and followed up on in a timely manner. Meets with all potential clients that are or could be a party to any U.S. export transaction within his/her assigned region or category. May serve as primary contact for underserved markets in an assigned region or category. Educates clients on all EXIM and other agency programs available to exporters of U.S. products and services. Advises clients and potential clients in determining the appropriate EXIM's product to best meet their needs.
  • Designs, implements, and monitors outreach plans for a specific geographic territory or special initiatives assignment within Small Business. Prepares reports advising various levels in the Bank on the status of these initiatives.
  • Provides guidance to clients regarding all EXIM eligibility requirements, policies and procedures, including but not limited to credit requirements and standards, and country limitations from inception of a potential transaction until a well-structured and complete application is submitted to EXIM.
  • Leverages relationships with the export-related business community to reach small business exporters.
  • Maintains a current, in depth, and technical knowledge of all programs, structures, and EXIM's policies necessary to achieve sales goals and to fulfill the mission of the Regional Sales Division.
  • Makes presentations to senior management and advisory committee meetings on assigned marketing activities and provides information for senior management to use in congressional testimony on issues relevant to business development.
  • Participates in internal work groups and committees that evaluate and make recommendations regarding improvements in EXIM's programs, policies, or processes, as required. Serves as primary public speaker in the assigned geographic territory or special initiatives assignment on behalf of EXIM on underserved market and small business issues. As applicable, attends domestic trade shows and seminars that showcase EXIM risk mitigation and financing opportunities to attendees. As needed, organizes and serves as principal and/or sole speaker for training seminars and marketing events.
  • Works with and manages certain trade association accounts, City-State Partners, TPCC agency employees, US and foreign companies, to develop closer contacts with exporters and foreign buyers by creating appropriate marketing materials for the target audience. Serves as the principal contact for the particular trade association and its members.
  • Mentors less experienced business development specialists to develop technical knowledge of EXIM's products, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes Database Management System to obtain leads, cold-call to exporters, follow up on leads, maintains file cases of possible leads and record status of leads and closed sales.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work):
GS-12: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience selling and promoting services, manufactured capital goods and consumer goods;
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of trade finance including working capital loan facilities and international risk mitigation techniques like export credit insurance; AND
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) database system to manage client interactions.
GS-13: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience selling and promoting services, manufactured capital goods and consumer goods;
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of trade finance including working capital loan facilities and international risk mitigation techniques like export credit insurance;
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) database system to manage client interactions; AND
  • Experience in international payment terms.
Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-12 or GS-13 grade levels.
