US Defense Contract Management Agency is Hiring a Management Assistant Near Picatinny Arsenal, NJ

Duties

  • Serves as a Management Assistant in a Contract Management Office (CMO) within Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) with primary responsibility for providing administrative and technical support to the Commander/Director and Deputy.
  • Serves as the CMO's information liaison for and between the workforce and higher headquarters on matters such as VIP visits, employee illness and deaths in the family.
  • Provides a variety of administrative and timely support services for the CMO.
  • Manages office functional areas, monitors and controls activities relating to the Commander's office operations.
  • Maintains the Commander/Directors and Deputy's calendars and schedules appointments based upon personal knowledge of workload.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Management Assistant position your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Working in an office setting and providing various administrative functions, such as:
    • Preparing reports and correspondence
    • Organizing and scheduling meetings
    • Preparing reports, charts, and/or graphs
    • Creating and updating automated databases
Education: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard;however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

  • Well-Qualified: The next lower category (Well-Qualified) will be used for those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications of the position and are proficient in some, but not all, of the requirements of the position. Candidates may require some training but not in all areas. Those that have a cut-off score 80 to 96, and have demonstrated in their resume they possess the competencies to perform proficiently.
  • Qualified: This category will be used for the candidates that only meet the basic requirements and eligibilities. Candidates may require extensive training and/or orientation in order to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. Those that have a cut-off score 70 to 79 and possess the competencies.
