GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Communications Specialist supports the programs, plans and tools that enhance Urban Strategies' relations with internal and external audiences. The specialist strategically delivers communications through various media, coordinating dissemination of the organization's communications directly with US teammates or through leaders or other means, based on a plan to reach defined audiences and objectives. At this career level, the incumbent may lead somewhat complex projects or programs that may cross functional or geographic boundaries.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


Communications & Marketing

  • Support creation and/or production of marketing and communication resources as needed by internal and external audience and messaging needs

  • Contribute to creation of content pipeline that supports US mission and strategic objectives

  • Manage change management and communications to address emerging needs

Systems Development & Quality Assurance

  • Co-create a scalable communications program to support rapid organizational growth

  • Support build-out of systems for a streamlined and efficient workflow that supports growth
  • Establishment of processes and protocols that drive consistency, quality and client satisfaction

Meetings & Events

  • Participate in or support events, corporate/leadership meetings or other events that impact organizational priorities

Data Collection & Impact Reporting

  • Collect, analyze and/or present departmental impact data

  • Develop or assist in the development of presentations and/or reporting

Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE and/or REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field.
  • Excellent analytical, relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in internet-based research, social media platforms, Canva, Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Cross-cultural experience preferred

OTHER
