We are a small company with an office based in Manhattan, specializing in hosting both domestic and international travelers for extended stays in furnished luxury apartments. We have nearly 250 apartments all across Manhattan and even a few in Brooklyn-and we're always adding more!

This position works on the field daily, Monday through Friday 9-5. It requires a high level of communication and time management, and the ability to be flexible with on-the-fly changes and updates. If you have experience in hospitality or customer service - as well as being handy for small to medium repairs - we really want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: repairs, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installations, inspections, etc.
• Assemble furniture and install in apartments
• Consistently communicate with the office team to ensure all tasks and tenant requests are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with safety regulations
• Communicate with tenants, team members, outside contractors, techs, property management, etc. professionally and respectfully
• Ad hoc repairs and maintenance including but not limited to, the following: AC unit (HVAC window units) servicing, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs as needed; basic plumbing and electrical work and repairs; patching, painting, cleaning as needed, and other general handyman tasks
• Conduct property inspections between tenants and assist with preparing new apartments for rental as needed
• Assist/escort various technicians, inspectors, supers, and building workers as needed
• Maintain accurate records of daily maintenance activities, including receipts for reimbursement/recording
• Stay up to date on latest industry trends and best practices in apartment maintenance and property management

Requirements:

• Previous experience and some technical skills in various areas of maintenance, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general troubleshooting and repairs
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Reliable access to transportation
• Background / experience in hospitality or customer service
• Access to a cell phone with wireless connection for communication and maintaining records, via Slack, Monday, etc.
• Must be fluent in English
• Availability to be on call weekends on a rotating basis for emergencies
• Must be punctual and reliable, ready to start work at the top of the day
• Able to stand/crouch/lift heavy items for most of the day
