The Upwork Real Time Communication team is responsible for delivering the next experience on how clients interact in the platform, bringing AI driven meetings capabilities integrated natively into the web and mobile versions of the application. This team will build a full RTC stack to serve users around the world with a sub-second latency ensuring seamless and instantaneous communication.

Your work will involve the development and comprehensive documentation of Software Development Kits (SDKs) for integrating with our Real Time Communication (RTC) service. Additionally, you will engage collaboratively with our internal clients, providing expert guidance in the implementation of these SDKs. A critical aspect of your role will be to refine and enhance these SDKs based on the constructive feedback received from these engagements.

Your Responsibilities:

• Create and document SDK libraries for easy integration with the RTC service.
• Ensure the scalability and robustness of the platform to support a global user base.
• Develop features and tools to optimize platform performance under varying network conditions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align SDK development with overall product goals.

What it takes to catch our eye:

• Proven experience in Fullstack development, specifically in creating and documenting SDK libraries.
• Experience with WebRTC in web and mobile applications
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, tackling complex challenges with innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Experience with Golang, typescript, and flutter.

The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $150,000 - $200,000 . The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long-term equity incentive program.
