The Senior Accounting Specialist position, Uplinq's title for a senior level accountant, is perfect for someone looking to develop as a professional in the FinTech space. Things you will do:

• Be part of a team that completes company setups for bookkeeping services within UPLINQ’s system, completes monthly and quarterly reviews and closes, and can troubleshoot any accounting issue that may arise within QBO.
• Field and create action plans for intensive catch up and clean up projects
• Interacts with high-value clients to ensure accounts are setup optimally for UPLINQ’s bookkeeping services
• Assists and guides a team handling weekly bookkeeping for all clients in tandem with our technology solution and system — this includes but is not limited to categorization, job costing, reconciliation, POS system setup, QBO integration setup, and AR/AP work
• Handoff companies to Accounting Specialists for maintenance bookkeeping
• Communicate and meet with clients to answer questions, gather information, and explain financial data if needed
• Complete year-end close process to ensure timely close of financial statements
• Work to continuously develop and perfect Uplinq's automated bookkeeping and support Uplinq's business intelligence solution
• Share responsibility for testing the financial feasibility of future financial goals of the product

What we are looking for:

• 5 years of experience with cash and accrual accounting through categorization, reconciliation, financial statement preparation, write-up, and compilation. Some public accounting firm experience is preferred.
• Critical thinking and problem solving abilities — you are comfortable working with the unknown, learning, and solving bookkeeping challenges. You could look at any set of books and identify issues, create an action plan to solve them and execute or oversee the action plan.
• Experienced and comfortable working in fast-paced environments and have the business acumen to take complex data and simplify it for company owners.
• Strong technical skills pertaining to full-charge bookkeeping, accounting services, and reconciliations.
• Attention to detail & ability to adopt new tools and methods quickly.
• The ability to meet deadlines.
• The ability to communicate complex data in an understandable way.
• Exceptional organization skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Reconciliation ability with various data sources.
• Willing to be mentored as well as mentor others.
• Experience drafting financial statements with applicable disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Other Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, math, finance, or economics is highly preferred
• Open to candidates without a formal education in the areas listed above, but with significant accounting experience. Please highlight this in the application questions and your resume or cover letter.

Experience

• 5 years experience in public accounting or finance, managing accounting and financial operations.
• Significant experience with QuickBooks Online and experience adapting to new processes and software very quickly
