The Administrative Specialist works within the Office of the Chair in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health under the supervision of the Administrative Manager and with a team of other administrative support staff. This role will provide administrative support to the Office of the Chair by coordinating student coverage for the main office, serving as a back-up to other colleagues within the Office of the Chair, and supporting the Promotions Committee with preparing and building faculty promotion packets, tracking faculty clock changes, and preparing materials and presentations throughout the year in anticipation of dossier due dates. The Administrative Specialist will also work on various projects that may be department-wide in scope to advance the operations and mission of the department.

- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in an administrative setting providing administrative support and coordination.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of faculty attestation and promotion process including schedule development, promotion process management, and portfolio/dossier preparation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, including communicating and collaborating with a diverse group of colleagues ranging from faculty, staff, and students.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

The starting salary for the position is $42,600 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
