POSITION PURPOSE
Under supervision from the Impact Office Director, the Lead Project Manager will support the Impact Office purpose of facilitating the discovery, intake, oversight, and completion of donor-funded projects and contracts for the School Nursing to increase efficiency and maximize all school impact. The Lead Project Manager will work with multiple SoN departments, offices, and teams and develop project plans according to strategic development priorities. They will oversee the planning, monitoring, and reporting of various projects while ensuring project scopes, timelines, and milestones are communicated to relevant stakeholders and updated as necessary. They will support Impact Office program operations and strategy through team member recruitment and onboarding, project and task delegation, as well as system and process improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Keep informed of SoN and departmental strategies and priorities
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of projects, purposes, and statuses
  • Oversee project planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Support the development of project management team
  • Advance Impact Office operations and strategy
    Project Planning, Monitoring& Reporting (85%)
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Track project costs in order to meet budget
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Document regular weekly progress report of project tasks completed, priorities for upcoming week, and dependencies
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Produces timely and accurate project deliverables and reports as directed
  • Utilize project management tools to support workflow and balancing responsibilities
    Impact Office Operations & Strategy (15%)
  • Support recruitment of a team of project managers with diverse knowledge and skills
  • Support Impact Office Director with onboarding and training project managers
  • Delegate projects/project tasks to appropriate project managers
  • Support development and revision of operational systems, processes, procedures, and related documents
  • Support efforts for process improvements across all operational and experience activities
  • Work with Impact Office Director to assess school-wide project management needs which support and center SoN and departmental strategies and priorities
  • Work with Impact Office Director to establish and monitor budget expenditures, ensure costs are allocated appropriately, and project rate of team growth
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Public Administration, Public Health, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in project or program management role
    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Is an independent, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences.
  • Ability to organize, manage and balance shifting priorities of multiple projects of varying complexity and maturity.
  • Capable of independently and collaboratively creating and improving systems and processes to move projects forward
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, and ability to maintain quality under deadlines.
  • Possesses a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity and ability to live out the university’s and school’s mission, vision, and values
    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, Public Health, or related field
  • Experience working in higher education
  • 3-5 years of experience in program or project management role
  • Project Management certification (PMP,CAPM, and/or PMI-ACP)
  • Experience using project management tools Conditions of Employment
