Job Summary

Dispenses radiopharmaceuticals and prepares shipments under the direction of a Nuclear Pharmacists. May perform other functions with training in manufacturing and quality control of PET radiopharmaceuticals with a team of radiopharmacists and radiochemists. Must be motivated, team oriented and committed to expanding their knowledge and experience in a clinically oriented academic and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Incumbent will experience moderate exposure to hazardous materials or physical risk, which requires adhering to radiation and other safety practices. Part time to full time position involving a variable schedule based on production demands. Depending on weekly assigned tasks in production, shifts can start anywhere between 2 am to 8 am the morning of production. The typical work week is Monday through Friday. In very rare instances a weekend shift may be required.

Responsibilities

As a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician your duties may be highly varied from time to time and may include but not be limited to:

· Responsible and accountable under State Pharmacy Law as licensed Pharmacy Technician while working in the permitted pharmacy area

· Comply with all regulatory commitments including the cGMP, Radiation Safety, Pharmacy laws and facility standard operating procedures ( SOP ) and policies and other applicable Federal, State and Local authorities

  • Preparation and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Perform good aseptic technique including sterile product preparation under cGMP and USP standards.
  • Receive training and perform required QC procedures using analytical equipment (Radio- TLC , GC and HPLC ) and chemical tests per standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares packaging and shipments of radioactive material are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains all applicable documents and records.
  • Ensures a clean, orderly and safe working environment.
  • Participates in personnel training and staff development.
  • Provide the highest quality customer service, including telephone and customer visits.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Current Pharmacy Technician licensure in the State of Utah.

Pharmacy in Training License is only accepted if the candidate had a Pharmacy Intern License.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Preferences

· Expertise in PET Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance including CFR 21 Part 212 and USP , , and · Experience in a Nuclear Pharmacy

· Experienced in working with analytical equipment such as HPLC , GC, and IC.

· Working knowledge of BioDose and BioTrax software

· Training will be provided in operation of equipment, procedures, and regulatory requirements of nuclear pharmacy for suitable candidates who meet other required qualifications
