University of Texas at El Paso is Hiring a Wellness Coordinator Near El Paso, TX

As the Wellness Representative in the Office of Human Resources at The University of Texas at El Paso, this person has responsibilities for coordinating Human Resource hosted events throughout campus and is working with the title of Wellness Coordinator. The Human Resource Wellness Coordinator is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing preventable illnesses and injuries through the provision of necessary tools, resources, education, and support for campus employees. The HR Wellness Coordinator reports directly to the HR General Services Manager in the Human Resources Department who reports to the HR Director of Employee Support and assists with the coordination, implementation, and oversight of all employee wellness activities.

Essential Functions

Assists with the coordination, implementation, and oversight of all university employee wellness and health activities/initiatives to address employee health and wellness needs at UTEP.

Assist with annual development and implementation of health and wellness strategic activities to include marketing and communication plan to maximize program engagement.

Collaborate with Manager and HR Director to evaluate employee wellness and health promotion activities and initiatives focusing on a holistic wellness approach.

Strong collaboration with campus-wide departments to promote and provide wellness resources and education.

Collaborate with UT System Institutions and attend meetings held by UT System Wellness Manager to better understand system wide health and wellness resources that are available to employees.

Collaborate with health insurance wellness vendors to bring them to campus and expand campus wide employee engagement.

Manage Wellness Online Portal - Limeade

Design and update content on UTEP Wellness Program website and social media outlets

Develop and deliver health education content through different outlets (social media, virtual presentations, in-person, website content)

Maintain on-going communication with local area hospitals, health fair vendors, community partners and other functional areas as deemed appropriate per Manager and HR Director.

Collaborate with community partners to expand resources for UTEP employees.

Participate in various committees, professional trainings, conferences, and conventions.

Develop workshop schedules, program priorities, and standards for achievement of program objectives and goals.

Assess and report on the effectiveness of program interventions

Participate in continuous quality improvements

Assist in the mapping of processes, procedures, and wellness events.

Compile and submit reports as required by management, state, local, and federal regulatory agencies.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in health promotion, nutrition, health sciences, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, public health, public administration, health policy, health education, health communication, business, or closely related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Minimum 1 year work experience in Health Promotion, Campus Recreation, Public Health, Higher Education, Nutrition, Nursing, Psychology, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field
