Job Details:

The Research Program Coordinator will provide the skills and experience needed to help develop and coordinate research studies at the University of Texas at Austin in the Human Development and Family Sciences Department.

The purpose of this position is to serve the Principal Investigator (PI) in the development and coordination of multiple on-going research projects. Key functions of the Research Program Coordinator include providing the skills and experience needed to help develop and manage the infrastructure of a research lab serving as the lead contact point for community partners, research assistants, and participating teachers and parents. Specific tasks may include data maintenance, grant expenditure adherence, project evaluation, meeting scheduling, research subject interfacing, light clerical duties and control of equipment and supplies. Research Program Coordinator may also review literature for related research developments and techniques, compile findings and generate reports, and serve as project liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies and product representatives. In addition, this position will plan and monitor performance against the PIs research goals and objectives. The position will interact with internal and external project stakeholders to build project support and requires the ability to work independently.

The position will end 5/14/2025, with the potential of extension based on performance and funding.

Responsibilities

* Coordinate team activities and lead and create agendas for meetings

* Prepare documents related to research activities, including funding agency reports, study protocols, Data Use Agreements and other data governance, and IRB submissions

* Participate in recruitment of study participants

* Collect and record study data and develop study database/tracking

* Supervise undergraduate/graduate research assistants, and help supervise other staff working on the PIs projects

* Maintain databases, source documents (surveys, consent, interest forms) and other study-related files

* Administrative Support (e.g. supply purchasing, expenses, interface with divisional grant team)

* Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested

Required Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree with some research lab experience

* Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, record-keeping, and writing skills

* Experience working with children and families

* Demonstrated flexibility and superb work ethic

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

* The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience coordinating research activities with the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks

* Prior experience managing IRB protocols

* Prior experience interacting with research participants

Salary Range

$40,000 depending on qualifications
