The Keck School of Medicine of USC seeks a
Project Specialist - Administrative to support the administration of its training programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience with program/event planning, project and budget management; be familiar with financial processes; data collection and management; have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and enjoy working as part of a team.
Detailed Job Responsibilities: - Supports the Vice Dean for Health and Biomedical Science Education in the development, implementation, and execution of initiatives in the Keck School of Medicine.
- Assists in the administration and coordination of a variety of research and/or administrative projects; develops and implements project goals and strategies.
- Assist with on-boarding postdoctoral scholars. Serve as resource coordinator and supports the development and execution of events/programs.
- Assists in the planning of data collection, preparation of reports, correspondence, other materials and analysis according to project schedules or other documentation of project status and/or administrative activities or project results.
- Assists in writing and editing of grant proposals and nomination letters. Maintains up-to-date lists of unit activities and assists faculty in seeking training grant support.
- Interfaces with faculty and/or staff and external contacts necessary to complete project assignments or for information exchange.
- Resolves problems or questions referred by project staff or administrators.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working in fast-paced environments, preferably at an educational institution, nonprofit or government agency. In addition, she/he/they should possess a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to initiate own work and use good judgment with minimal supervision. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential to the success of this role, as well as the ability to work with team members, faculty, students and external partners.
Experience: Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree; Preferred: Master's Degree; Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Preferred Experience: 3-5 years in academic setting preferred
Required Experiences/Skills: - Ability to handle multiple projects on an ongoing basis while addressing daily needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of confidentiality, regulatory and university policies; demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive matters and material.
- Demonstrated ability to work with various constituencies and colleagues on projects that require attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, and diplomacy.
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills with ability to work equally well independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated knowledge and accountability related to the planning and prioritization of projects, programs, and activities using sound judgment while meeting organizational needs.
- Must be highly motivated, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be able to meet deadlines and goals independently.
- Experience working in an academic institution and diverse workplace preferred.

The base hourly range for this position is $29.44 - $30.77.
