TheUniversity of New Mexico’s School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry andMolecular Biology is seeking a ResearchScientist 3 tojoin the research laboratory of Dr. Olga Ponomarova(https://hsc.unm.edu/directory/ponomarova-olga.html). Our team studiesconnections between central metabolic network function and organismalphysiology. The Research Scientist 3 will conduct research on interactionsbetween metabolic pathways using model organism C. elegans and itsbacterial diet; including operating GC-MS spectrometer, collecting andanalyzing metabolomics data.

• Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of laboratory experience directly related to the responsibilities specified
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar experience with metabolism research or metabolomics
• Ability to work and think independently
• Supportive and collaborative attitude towards team members
