Job Description

The Urban Education Research Center (UERC) seeks a research assistant to provide research support across a variety of projects.At the direction of the UERC leadership team, the research assistant will assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting.The successful applicant will have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with UERC team members.

The mission of the UERC is to create reliable, usable knowledge about education in urban areas with the goal of promoting excellent schooling and improving the lives, opportunities and communities of urban residents in the Greater Kansas City community and the nation. The center accomplishes this mission through collaborative, data-rich strategies including technical assistance and consultation and rigorous research and evaluation using a range of methodological tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistwithpreparingcharts,tables,graphs,orwrittensummariesofdataof data output
  • Assistwithquantitativeandqualitativedataanalysis and reporting

To be successful in this position must have demonstrated experience with the following:

  • Conducting data entry and cleaning
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Excel data management and analysis software and conducting quantitative analyses
  • Knowledge of K-12 and postsecondary education systems
Anticipated Hiring Range

Full-Time, benefit eligible, unranked/non-tenure track academic position. The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.00 - $26.00 an hour.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
