Job Description
  1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Directs and coordinates the departments according to established guidelines and in compliance with all regulatory bodies including TJC,CAP, AABB, FDA, and all pertinent state and local agencies.
  2. CHANGE LEADERSHIP: Demonstrates the value of diversity through interviewing, hiring and retention activities. Selects the right people with the right skills for the right jobs with a demonstrated impact on retention and an appropriate sense of urgency meeting organizational and department turnover goals.
  3. CLINICAL AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE: Provides leadership and is accountable for management of nursing services and practices by coordinating professional nursing practice through decreasing variation in practices among clinical nursing staff and increased compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
  4. INNOVATION: Looks beyond current state, challenges assumptions and takes thoughtful risks, and solves problems creatively. Encourages and empowers creativity and innovation in others.
  5. LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT: Regularly invests time in developing, coaching, and mentoring others while focusing on retaining high performance individuals.
  6. ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Ensures that department and unit objectives, goals, and processes are specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic and time-bound, are aligned with SJMC’s mission and strategic vision and operating plan, and are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
