Confidential Resource Advisor

Full-time, Regular, Exempt Position

The University of Maine System is seeking to hire a Confidential Resource Advisor. This position is a member of the Office of Equal Opportunity (EO) which reports to the University of Maine System Human Resources function. This position directly reports to the Director of Equal Opportunity and is supported by a team of professional colleagues who seek to further the University System’s mission of promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. The position’s primary location is at the University of Maine at Orono, though it is an expectation that the person in this role will also provide support to students at the University of Maine at Machias. A flexible work schedule with up to 20% remote work opportunity is available if desired.

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is low to mid $40's plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers a wellness program.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience and/or training and education
  • Experience in sexual violence or domestic violence advocacy
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively provide victim services related to sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and stalking.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Experience working in the field of sexual and intimate partner violence and stalking.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: conducting training, developing curriculum, supervising staff and/or volunteers, recruitment and retention of staff, leading support groups, and/or working with teens.
  • Experience developing and implementing training/education programs.
  • Contemporary knowledge of current events, social movements, climate, and political trends broadly and those related to campus life especially. Experience working in a university setting and college communities.
