- Minimum of 5-10 years sales, marketing or business development experience.
- At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related field. MBA a plus.
- Deep understanding of partnership agreements, patent law, licensing and commercialization.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience running successful marketing campaigns.
- Skilled communicator: includes verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
- Ability to use discretion and respect confidentiality. Ability to work well with people and use skill and sensitivity in internal and external relations, especially in working with volunteers and students.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, faculty, donors, and industry partners, with an emphasis on collaboration, tact, diplomacy, flexibility, professionalism, and discretion.
- Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead a team, prioritize personal and team tasks and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
- Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite. Advanced knowledge of software applications specific to industry alliance programs.
- Ability to teach others. Ability to break down complex concepts and tailor communication to industry partner unique needs and interests.
- Ability to approach a wide range of projects strategically and creatively, with an eye for detail as well as careful attention to messaging and quality of writing.
- General knowledge and competent skills to perform basic accounting procedures; ability to keep accurate records of expenditures and income.
- Working knowledge of University of California Policies and Procedure.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
- May need to work some nights and weekends
