Events Program Director
University of Notre Dame
The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Events Program Director.
Applications will be accepted until 10/11/2022.
The Events Program Director's primary purpose is to efficiently and professionally manage all administrative aspects of events sponsored by the Keough School Dean's Office. This includes coordinating public events, such as conferences, public lectures, and panels, as well as internal events, such as advisory council meetings, commencement activities, gatherings of faculty and staff, and other campus events. This position also provides advice and oversight to events organized at the Keough School's Washington Office and occasionally at other locations around the world. In addition, the Events Program Director will serve as a team leader to coordinate the scheduling of events by Institutes and Centers at the Keough School, sharing best practices, and facilitating their use of the Washington Office.
Dean's Office Public Events - The Keough School Dean's Office organizes high profile public lectures, panels, and other events each year, as well as occasional conferences, seminars, and special events. The Program Director works with relevant faculty and staff in the Dean's Office, as well as with the School's Global Policy Initiative and other units at the School, to coordinate the planning and administration of these events. This includes participating in planning meetings; scheduling rooms and facilities both on and off campus; working in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing to coordinate dissemination of publicity and communications regarding events; communicating with conference participants regarding accommodations, travel, visas, honorarium payments, and technological needs; arranging for food, local transport, and other hosting of participants; preparing budgets and maintaining records of expenditures; and addressing other issues which arise in planning and implementing these events.
Team Leader - The Events Program Director serves as the team leader for scheduling events by the Institutes and Centers that are part of the Keough School. This includes chairing regular team meetings with events coordinators at the Keough School, fostering collaboration between units on events, facilitating communication and coordination between Keough School units in planning the annual calendar of events, and overseeing the scheduling of shared conference and seminar rooms in Jenkins and Nanovic Halls. These rooms are shared by the Institutes and Centers that are part of the Keough School, and in some cases, with Social Science Departments that are also locating to this facility. The Program Director also serves as the on-campus liaison for events held by Keough School units or other units on campus at the Keough School's Washington Office. As liaison, the Program Director provides details about facilities, technology, and local vendors that are available at the Washington Office and facilitates best practices for effectively using the facility in coordination with the Executive Director and Office Coordinator for the Washington Office.
Internal Events - The Program Director also organizes internal events sponsored by the Dean's Office, including meetings and events involving the Keough School's Advisory Council and significant donors to the School, commencement, and gatherings of Keough School faculty and staff. For Advisory Council events, the Events Program Director will work closely with the School's Academic Advancement Director and relevant staff in the Development Office.
