As Facilities Associate Program Director (FAPD), your primary responsibilities are for McCourtney Hall. As the founding facility of the interdisciplinary science and engineering research complex on the east side of campus, McCourtney Hall is a 220,000 square foot research building that houses faculty members and their research teams from two colleges and four departments. The second building in the East Campus Research Complex (ECRC) is currently under construction and will add to our world-class interdisciplinary research facilities footprint.
As the FAPD, your responsibilities will include the following.
Lead the shipping and receiving process for McCourtney Hall and next building in the ECRC, including managing and planning resource assignments and developing processes. This includes receiving shipments from central receiving, general services, UPS, Amazon, FedEx, and others. The process must ensure accurate, transparent and timely delivery of packages (many of which are hazardous or sensitive). Manage the loading dock area ensuring the area is clean and safe for deliveries. Operate and train others in the shipping and receiving software to ensure accurate data, reporting and tracking of all shipments/deliveries. It is expected this position will lead, manage, hire, coordinate and train the other staff and student workers to assist with the shipping and receiving processes.
Lead the technical inventories, repairs and maintenance of McCourtney Hall and the next building in the ECRC. Lead building walk-throughs to capture repair and maintenance items, determine next steps and follow through on work orders.
Manage and supervise a cohort of student and temporary employees to assist with the duties and responsibilities. Responsible for ensuring the student and temporary staffing levels are appropriate to ensure the successful operation of McCourtney Hall and the next building in the ECRC for shipping and receiving, conference room and technology management, building support, event support and mail delivery.
Monitor supplies for printers and faculty suites. Sorts mail in faculty suites to the appropriate mail slots. (It is expected this position will manage student and temporary staff to successfully monitor supplies for printers and mail delivery.)
Serve as primary contact to coordinate building services activities such as cleanliness of kitchenettes, restrooms and common areas.
Partner with the other Facilities Associate Program Director, the Assistant Vice President for Research Operations, Risk Management and Safety, and the safety committee to ensure a culture of safety in NDR facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with all levels of personnel. Ability to analyze and interpret institutional and external policies and regulations. Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. Ability to work successfully in an environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail and an ability to quickly learn new concepts and independently solve problems. Experience working in building management support. Must be capable of passing required safety trainings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications: Associates degree or higher level education. Experience working in a university setting. Familiarity with working with hazardous materials. Experience in shipping and receiving. An understanding of laboratory and research operations. Experience working in facilities support/operations for a research facility.
