Job Summary:
University Home Care is seeking a motivated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Livonia, Michigan. This is a full-time, individual contributor role in our growing healthcare organization. As the Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients in their homes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in our community.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Physical Therapist in evaluating and treating patients in their homes
- Utilize various techniques and modalities to help patients improve their mobility, strength, and function
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and activities to continue at home
- Document patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Stay updated on best practices and innovations in physical therapy through continued education and training
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Active state license or eligibility for licensure in Michigan
- CPR certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in a home care setting preferred
