Position Summary:Buyer will directly interface with vendors on the negotiation of goods and services, material supply issues, and other critical tasks to ensure an uninterrupted and price conscious supply of materials to Adesis. Additionally, the Buyer will ensure a constant flow of communication to their internal Adesis colleagues on delivery of goods and services. Communicating and negotiating, the Buyer will also be responsible for the complete purchase order process, which includes creating, monitoring, facilitating, and assuring all purchase orders are fulfilled and successfully closed.Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, and order terms
  • Assist in sourcing chemicals and materials to ensure continuity of supply chains
  • Proactively work with internal requestors to understand their order requests
  • Qualify vendor, negotiate pricing in preparation for initiation of purchase orders for goods and services to maximize value, supply, and cost
  • Monitor open purchase orders, identify and address possible delivery issues in order to expedite receipt
  • Work with receiving staff to ensure all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
  • Ensure timely direct placement and amendment of orders with vendors
  • Accurately enter, code and update PO’s in SAP B1, identifying expenses, fixed asset and inventory items
  • Proactively follow up on confirmation of placed orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Timely closure of PO’s once all issues are resolved
  • Support and collaborate with Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve invoice/payment issues ensuring a three-way match

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years of applicable experience or 7-10 years of experience with no degree
  • Familiarity with ERP systems. SAP B1 experience preferred
  • Ability to interface and interact with external vendors
  • Must be detail oriented, able to balance multiple priorities, and have strong time management and self-management skills
  • Ability to work in a SOX environment and be able to resolve any audit queries with external auditors
  • Ability to establish internal relationships quickly and work with multiple internal organizations simultaneously
