The Accounts Receivable Specialist (inbound calls) is responsible for the follow up of outstanding Accounts / Receivables of all payers and / or including self - pay and / or including resolution of denials.
This position is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability and includes the ability to interpret and rectify denials.
This position is full - time. Employees are required to work any shift between the hours of 10 : 30 AM - 7 : 00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time).
We offer 3 weeks training during normal business hours.
All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
Primary Responsibilities :
Work EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports
Research and resolve accounts appearing on Delinquent Insurance Report, Collection Ledger and Government Payor report as directed by management
Make appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked to maximize reimbursement
Meet productivity standards as outlined in client metrics
Identify any issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management team
Work on special projects as assigned
Train others and quality assurance work of others as assigned
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :
Must be 18 years of age or older
1 years of Accounts / Receivable experience, insurance billing, processing and / OR customer service experience within hospital, clinic, primary care, doctor’s office, OR related environment
Working knowledge of hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including, but not limited to, Epic, Cerner, and / OR Meditech
Experience with using Microsoft Office products
Ability to work any shift between the hours of 10 : 30 AM - 7 : 00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time)
Preferred Qualifications :
2 years of work experience in healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital
1 years of experience with insurance denials, appeals, and timely filing guidelines
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
Ability to navigate payer portals and internet application
Ability to confirm expected reimbursement per fee schedule
Read and understand explanation of benefits (EOB), and take appropriate next steps toward resolution
Working knowledge of insurance plans and coordination of benefits (COB)
Telecommuting Requirements :
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

00 - $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
