Overview
The Marketing Data Analyst will collaborate with our internal marketing team and agency partners to generate in-depth insights for marketing campaigns. The Analyst will be responsible for conducting analysis and reporting related to insights that help inform marketing decisions, strategies, and solve business challenges. Housed in the Analytics & Insights unit of the Information Technology division, the Analyst is a key member of the team that serves as the central source for wrangling and analyzing enterprise-wide data to drive actionable insights across the business. This role operates as a business facilitator and enabler in the digital data transformation that will redefine how people in the region experience successful engagement with the next generation of UWGA.
Position Summary
The Marketing Data Analyst is a key part of the data analytics and integration team, focused on collaborative data sets and data-driven solutions to business challenges. This analyst will work closely with the Marketing team to perform data tracking, mining, and data transformation from disparate sources, and generate integrated analysis, reports, visualizations, and other dashboards to convey to stakeholders. The position places a strong emphasis on enhancing digital campaigns and channels through optimization and leveraging technological advancements. This role must possess effective communication and problem-solving skills, demonstrate the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and produce high-quality work with data quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for conducting analysis and reporting related to insights that help inform marketing decisions, strategies, and solve business challenges.
Work closely with the internal marketing team, consultants, and future agency partners. Demonstrate ability to translate desired outcomes into shared understanding of data needs and reporting requirements.
Respond to requests and produce reports based on the needs and strategic priorities of Marketing and other internal customers.
Improve and maintain existing reporting, dashboards, and other analysis and underlying shared data sets.
Maintain website, social media, and other channel metrics from sources such as GA4, Dynamics, and Sprout Social. Perform data extraction and data transformation from various sources to evaluate and analyze metrics and performance, create visualizations and dashboards in PowerBI.
Create and maintain custom tags and triggers in Google Tag Manager
Provide insights to our website content team to identify SEO improvements and tracks visitor data to determine the impact of changes.
Monitors and highlights multiple metrics of success including data capture, engaged sessions, registrations, and donations from a variety of data sources.
Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging internal and external data to drive business solutions
Mine and analyze both internal and external data to drive optimization and improvement of marketing efforts, donor outreach, and website analytics.
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Present intuitive results and solutions to key stakeholders.
Qualifications & Expectations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of experience in marketing and data analysis and/or business intelligence
Growth mindset with a passion for analytics and digital technology
Direct experience with similar marketing analytics positions on cross-functional marketing teams.
Experience and understanding with marketing, social media, and website data
Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
Working knowledge of JavaScript and database querying language (SQL)
Basic background in statistical analysis and one at least one statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.)
Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
Experience with various data structures and common methods in data transformation
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (Microsoft PowerBI preferred)
Experience with CRM, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
Excellent at pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills
Excellent project management skills - attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
