We are looking for an experienced and passionate Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a diverse array of materials for both print and digital platforms for the United Way of Greater Knoxville and will contribute to the evolution of our brand guidelines. This position will play a pivotal role in crafting visual content that effectively conveys our brand's message and elevates our brand while adhering to the voice, principles, and philosophy of the United Way of Greater Knoxville (UWGK).

Role and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute design concepts that align with our brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  • Create digital and print assets. Design digital and print ads, logos, brochures, other internal marketing collateral, and social media artwork in adherence with the UWGK brand and strategic messaging guidelines.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Continually research and keep current with marketing trends.
  • Assist in updating the UWGK website and landing pages.
  • Revises projects as necessary based on the collaborative feedback process.
  • Consult with the director and other team members on complex or specialized projects.
  • Prepare and deliver print-ready files and digital assets to vendors and publishers.
  • Create opportunities to strengthen organizational culture and improve the employee experience.
  • Engage in various UWGK committees, workgroups, and activities to support the strategic plan and mission.
On a Typical Week
As the Graphic Designer, you play a supportive role for every department in the organization. You will work on various projects each week, from one-pagers, mailings, report presentations, and PowerPoint slides to digital media, web content, and much more! We are a fast-paced environment with exciting work happening in every corner.
You may be part of the Culture Club, which organizes staff events like cookouts, holiday parties, retreats, and volunteer events, to name a few.
Have lunch in the breakroom with a micro-market for food, drinks, snacks, and a coffee lounge area, complete with sofas to relax on. Take a wellness break in the fitness room.
We have flexible start and end times to help accommodate your life activities outside of work.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, or a similar field. Lived experience relevant to this role will also be considered and can supplement instead of an educational experience.
  • 2 years of experience as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and diverse design projects.
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress website design and content management is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of video editing and production is a plus.
  • Experience working with computerized software, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, or similar programs.
We Offer
To model equitable hiring practices, UWGK strives to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes several factors not limited to skill set level, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward merit-based performance, UWGK typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $45,000 - $65,000/year.
