Responsibilities

The Regional Manager, Business Development is responsible for organizing, strategizing, and leading a team of Physician Liaisons within their region.

  • Assists in sourcing, recruiting, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Coaches and motivates Senior Physician Liaisons and their teams, including team meetings, 1:1’s, and ride-alongs.
  • Responsible for market performance, development, and retention of top talent.
  • Develops effective business plans to meet and exceed regional sales goals.
  • Manages and provides leadership of Senior Physician Liaisons within their assigned region.
  • Maintains budget and overall spend within their region.
  • Utilizes data and CRM to gain a complete understanding of team's metrics and performance and proactively address market penetration and opportunities for growth.
  • Partners with Human Resources, Operations, Training, and the Director of Business Development to develop, implement, and evolve training program for Senior Physician Liaisons and Physician Liaisons.
  • Ensures that all team members effectively and consistently navigate the referral relationship funnel/sales cycle and assist the VP of Business Development in strategy.
  • Partners with each Senior Physician Liaisons to create sales plans to achieve/exceed growth goals and in coaching their Physician Liaisons.
  • Creates transparent and clear communications/messaging strategy for his/her designated region and ensures effective deployment.
  • Actively participates in development of annual, quarterly, and monthly growth objectives and partners closely with Senior Physician Liaisons to determine the portfolio of referrals that can be earned from targeted physicians/practices.
  • Monitors and reports market and competitor information.
  • Understands who the physician groups, hospital systems, and major potential referral partners are within their region.
  • Partners with internal and external physicians to understand the motivations and needs that serve as accelerants or barriers to referral growth and identifies opportunities to eliminate barriers and capitalize on strengths.
  • Shares best practices and program enhancements to accelerate the evolution of all referral efforts across region.
  • Assists the VP of Business Development in review and development of long- and short-term sales strategies.
  • Responsible for covering for Senior Physician Liaisons in their absence.
  • Adheres to all UVVC compliance guidelines, operates with integrity, and ensures sales team adheres to these policies.

  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years in relevant Referral Development/Sales with demonstrated success in healthcare.
  • 2 years leading sales/outreach teams with demonstrated success.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff to achieve results and meet business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize market data and field intelligence to uncover and capitalize on new market opportunities and achieve sustained referral growth by navigating the referral relationship funnel/sales cycle.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including political, economic, competitive market factors such as ACO, MSO, IPA, and other trends.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Strong desire to grow and ability to handle an elevated level of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach decisions, take appropriate action, and follow through to progress the team.
  • Ability to both lead and actively participate as a member of a team to achieve common goals. Must be able to work closely with peers, operations, and other key team members to determine best practices and implement new strategies and workflows.
  • Must have a take-charge, problem-solving attitude.
  • Actively demonstrates commitment to excellent service to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information, reach decision point, and execute appropriate actions.
  • Very strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Must assure discreet and confidential handling of all business information and understand regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to analyze complex information and problem solve.
  • Demonstrated success working independently and without close supervision.
  • Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards for the role.
  • Must be able to provide proof of acceptable auto policy liability coverage limits of $100k for bodily injury per person, $300k for bodily injury per accident, and $50k for property damage.

For internal promotional opportunity:

  • Must be a UVVC Physician Liaison Market Manager with goal achievement of 80% or greater for 4 of 6 quarters for entire region.
  • Must be proficient in all service lines offered within their region.
  • Must have achieved a retention goal of greater than 90% YoY in their time as a Physician Liaison Market Manager.
