Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the transportation of goods and materials. Your excellent organizational skills and ability to analyze data will contribute to the smooth operation of our supply chain.
Duties:
- Receive and process customer orders for transportation services
- Coordinate with drivers, Managers, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Utilize transportation management systems to plan routes and optimize efficiency
- Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including driver logs and shipment documentation
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, to provide updates on status
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to manage transportation needs to customers.
- Assist with fleet management, including scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning and logistics operations
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles
- Proficient in using computer systems and software related to dispatching (TOWBOOK )
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions quickly
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
