Job Title: Vice President Sales - Transit/Rail

Department: Sales

Summary: The Vice President of Sales has ultimate responsibility for Transit and Rail sales functions of the organization. This leadership function will be expected to leverage industry connections, channel partnerships and support growth opportunities. This role is will develop and implements sales strategies and policies that help the organization meet its revenue targets and profit goals. This position will be responsible for managing a team of experienced sales professionals setting clear objectives, providing direction and mentorship to ensure the corporate sales objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities: As the Vice President of Sales you will:

  • Develop, implement, and manage a sales plan to include strategic relationships with industry contacts, and customer prospect opportunities.
  • Drive the coordination, analysis, and support of all sales efforts, in collaboration with internal departments.
  • Maintain and continue to grow market share within designated industries.
  • Achieve financial/sales metrics as outlined by the Executive Vice President of Sales.
  • Contribute to market research and adjust sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Provide up-to-date understanding of industry trends, product and competitor knowledge, and technical developments that impact market conditions.
  • Identify, select, and represent the company at industry meetings, trade shows and conferences. Capable of presenting highly technical presentations.
  • Develop and lead a team of experienced Regional Sales Managers.
  • Manage the sales team's performance through clear goals and expectations.
  • Create a culture of success.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Track progress against key goals and performance metrics.
  • Manage and report sales results, potential sales, customer feedback and activity plan as required and maintain forecast and customer contact through Salesforce CRM.
  • Travel as needed
  • Observe all company rules and safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

You're a great fit for this position if this describes you;

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Operations or another related field. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Executive Board Level Acumen
  • High level of exposure and connectivity with key industry contacts in North America.
  • Minimum 10 years of public transit related experience and technical expertise
  • Politically astute and familiar with industry process and industry funding.
  • Able to clearly articulate and achieve goals through quick and decisive actions while possessing self-confidence required for being assertive when taking a position.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation and problem-solving skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels throughout their organization.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, under pressure with time constrains while responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.
  • Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems
  • Flexible regarding working hours and travel; able to travel extensively, possibly including weekends.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Capable of handling sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
