Position Summary:The successful Purchasing Assistant is quality driven and detail oriented. This role assists the Purchasing Manager with daily project administrative tasks so that they can spend their time on operations and strategic development with an aim towards resolving current and future order issues. The Purchasing Assistant compiles and sends purchase orders after Purchasing Manager reviews and approves. This role verifies orders are received by vendors and processed. The Purchasing Assistant compiles acknowledgements for Purchasing Manager's review and actively manages all administrative tasks to assist Purchasing Manager.Duties/Responsibilities:• Purchase orders are placed in a timely manner to ensure on time delivery to 26 locations.• Transaction reports are accurate and up to date (check and balance of all the orders, monthly).• Paperwork is accurate, up to date and well organized to expedite review process.• Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery.• Researching potential vendors.• Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.• Excellent math skill.• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks.• Meticulous "eye" for detail and accuracy.• Desire to grow, take on new responsibilities, and establish yourself on our team.Experience / Education:• One to three (1-3) years of purchasing experience is a must. • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat are required.• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent experience desired.
