Title: Helpdesk Technician 1 or 2

Location: Altoona, PA

Duration: Full-Time Long-Term

Travel Requirement: Local travel (50mile radius), out of area travel negligible < 5 %

UDNI is currently seeking an experienced Helpdesk Technician to join our team of IT professionals. This position offers the opportunity to grow with the company, effect change, and be rewarded for contribution and effort. This is an ideal position for a driven, aggressive, self-starting technology professional who works well both individually and in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities: The Helpdesk Technician will assist customers who are experiencing technical issues via remote support over the phone and /or on-site. The helpdesk technician is responsible to resolve IT-related service requests or to escalate to specialized departments when needed. The helpdesk technician is also responsible to advocate for our customers to ensure that effective solutions have been provided in a timely manner.

General experience should include but are not limited to:

  • Strong technical background with experience in the following a plus
  • Windows Server 2016, 2019
  • Windows 10
  • MacOS
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Office 365
  • Helpdesk experience with a focus on remote support via phone
  • Ability to solve tough problems using efficient solutions that are scalable
  • Participate in rotating on-call after hours for emergency support requests
  • Work with other team members in a positive constructive manner

Education, Experience and Skills Preferred:

  • Technical Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience
  • Ability to multi-task under aggressive timelines
  • Must possess a strong analytical and technical background with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and be able to resolve technical issues quickly and generate trust from clients, staff, and leadership.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to customers and co-workers with different skill levels. Must be friendly, assertive, and knowledgeable with clients on the phone.
  • Ability to generate technical documentation and have strong client service skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information and convey effectively
  • Have a working knowledge of the Windows Operating system and intermediate networking skills.
  • Background in client systems administration and implemented technologies.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize to manage time effectively and efficiently to accomplish tasks.
