POSITION OVERVIEW

The Construction Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains the job site office and closes out projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Maintains the construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the project.
  • Understands the project plans, specifications
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 Years of On-Site Superintendent Experience
  • Organization: Utilizes strong organizational skills.
  • Communication: Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills.
  • Problem Solving: Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Tactful and mature demeanor with well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.

The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object. Excellent stamina is required.
The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
