Overview
The Corporate Director of Human Resources will work closely with the President and other senior managers in leading the Human Resources function to help strengthen the company's compliance, recruiting and training efforts across several diverse business operations.
Responsibilities
• Manage all HR functions, including talent review and acquisition, performance management, organizational capability and design, compensation, diversity, employee relations, leadership development and training.
• Provide leadership, advice and counsel to management on all human capital issues.
• Coach, mentor and develop business partners.
• Train, supervise and audit HR staff at all company properties.
• Help identify and address gaps in leadership, organizational effectiveness and work performance through training, succession planning and various performance management techniques; develop organizational structure and workflow.
• Lead the Company's staffing and recruiting efforts to ensure the hiring of top talent.
• Improve leadership and management skills of managers and supervisors.
• Increase the use of technology in administering and managing HR services and programs.
• Project-manage and track various initiatives.
• Implement and communicate company policies and procedures to managers and employees.
• Insure compliance with labor laws and payroll requirements in multiple states.
Job Requirements/Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in a HR/IR, or similar, required
• A minimum of 10 years of HR Generalist experience
• Experience supporting hospitality/restaurant required; Union experience a plus
• Strong team development, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Ability to coach senior managers/leaders
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
• Expert level user in Microsoft suite of products, particularly Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Unquestionable work ethic, personal integrity, and honesty
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
• Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
• Willingness and ability to travel out of state, as required (up to 50%)
• A track record of at least 5 years of developing and initiating human resources and organizational development strategies in a growing company.
• Strong recruitment and training skills and background.
• Experience in both corporate and fast-paced entrepreneurial environments.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Solid experience in all major functional areas of HR.
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Ability to perform both at a strategic and hands on level.
LOCATION
This position will be based in the Greater New York City area.
