Hinds Hospice, one of the most well-known and well-respected nonprofit agencies in California’s Central Valley and a pioneer in the practice of hospice and palliative care, is seeking an Administrative Assistant Center for Grief and Healing to join our team.

Reporting to the Manager of the Center for Grief & Healing, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the timely and accurate entry of a variety of data, meeting minutes and other clerical and administrative tasks which may include coordinating meetings, scheduling client appointments, copying documents, faxing, filing, answering telephones, and providing administrative support for the Center for Grief & Healing and Angel babies social work and bereavement team. This position will also assist with medical billing duties, obtaining insurance authorizations and collecting payments. They will also utilize our electronic healthcare record system to set up clients and care plans.

Qualifications

• Compensation $23 hourly

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years college preferred.; with two years experience in health care data entry, preferably in hospice care information systems.
• Knowledge and/or skills in typing/computer, filing and record maintenance, operation of routine office equipment, and time management.
• Demonstrate the ability to work with health care team personnel.
• Time management and organizational skills with flexibility to manage a wide variety of tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
• Ability to learn and assimilate the EMR System.
• Must have a valid drivers license and a willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.
• Must show proof of automobile insurance, proof of current auto registration and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 10 lbs.)
• Available Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm
