Criminal History Records Enhancements Specialist Opportunity
DutiesIn this role, you will be responsible for enhancing criminal history records through the research and collection of Court documents, entering data into a designated web portal, and ensuring registration efforts for the State of Indiana are successfully carried out. This position involves collecting court documentation from various sources and collaborating closely with the Sex and Violent Offender Registration and Victim Services Division of the Indiana Department of Correction. The position offers a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office and two days of remote work each week post-training.
Essential Functions
DutiesIn this role, you will be responsible for enhancing criminal history records through the research and collection of Court documents, entering data into a designated web portal, and ensuring registration efforts for the State of Indiana are successfully carried out. This position involves collecting court documentation from various sources and collaborating closely with the Sex and Violent Offender Registration and Victim Services Division of the Indiana Department of Correction. Essential Functions
- Research and collect Court documents and sentencing information
- Analyze and interpret collected documents
- Communicate effectively with local and State law enforcement agencies
- Data entry into a designated web portal
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Division Staff
- Proficiency in data collection and data entry
- Comprehensive understanding of the Indiana Criminal Code
- Familiarity with the Department of Correction and the Criminal Justice System at all levels
- Comfortability with court documents and legal terminology
- Knowledge of national criminal justice research resources
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Capacity to handle and process detailed and sensitive crime-related data
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with department and external agency staff
- Managing multiple complex tasks and making informed decisions based on expertise
- Employing various methods to achieve task objectives in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring accuracy in work, crucial to upholding the Department's reputation and community safety
- Working independently, with periodic review of work for accuracy, policy compliance, and alignment with Department goals
- Maintaining collaborative relationships with Department personnel to address project needs effectively
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree preferred
- Relevant work experience considered equivalent
