Responsibilities

Vice President Business Development

One of the nation’s leading providers of contract management services to general acute care hospitals is seeking a Vice President of Business Development and Sales. The position reports to the Senior VP of Business Development and Sales, and may be based near any major air hub in the U.S.

The company serves patients and families by providing high quality clinical services. We serve hospital administrators and their patients by creating and managing high quality and successful hospital based psychiatric services.

Our goal is to build positive long-lasting relationships with our patients and our clients based on the high quality of the services we provide.

The successful candidate will be asked to perform the following functions:

To successfully obtain Behavioral Health contracts with client hospitals.

  1. To make appointments and present proposals to hospitals.
  2. To complete all sales reports requested by Senior Vice President, Sales and Development.
  3. To perform "cold calls" by telephone and in person to prospective clients.
  4. To assist in negotiation of contracts with prospective clients.
  5. To attend appropriate industry trade shows.
  6. To provide input into the company’s sales strategy.
  7. To work in concert with Operations, product personnel and other Development staff as appropriate.
  8. To develop and maintain excellent relationships with outside consultants, underwriters, accounting firms, construction and architectural personnel in the health care field.
  9. To take an active interest in current events as they relate to our segment of the health care industry.
  10. To pursue activities to increase lead generation.
  11. To prepare financial analyses for both client and company which analyze the economic parameters of the proposed contractual relationship between the client and Company.
  12. To prepare high quality written documents (e.g., proposals, correspondence, financial pro formas, etc.,) that expedite and enhance the sales process.
  13. To utilize a number of computer programs (e.g., Word, Excel, and GoldMine) that expedite and enhance the sales process.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree required, with a Master’s degree in business or health related field preferred.
  2. Five to ten years of successful healthcare sales experience involving services or capital equipment to senior hospital administrators.
  3. Effective communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  4. Demonstrated managerial, marketing, and financial management ability.
  5. Prior healthcare sales experience.
  6. Prior healthcare marketing experience.
