Department: Faculty Practice
U.M. FDSP Associates is a non-profit affiliate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. U.M. FDSP Associates is the organization that provides patient care focused staffing for the clinic operations so that faculty and students may provide patient care to the general public.
We offer paid vacation, sick leave, personal days, and 12 Federal paid holidays. Additionally, we offer medical, dental, vision, short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance benefits. We also offer 401K with an employer match up to six percent. Hours of operation are Monday thru Friday with no weekends.
The Office Manager works independently to ensure accurate billing and collections efforts. Is highly proficient at insurance coding and interacts with various insurance providers. Responsible for performing front desk functions as well as providing support for the administrative requirements of the various commercial dental insurance plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 - 3 years’ related experience. Experience as front office dental practice a preferred. Related education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Knowledge of commercial dental insurance policies, services, guidelines and procedures.
Independently perform specialized tasks.
Proficient in applying basic analytical skills to problems where clear precedent may not exist.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
Must have good customer service, interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to apply close attention to detail in performing routine clerical tasks.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Overtime, on-call and shift work may be required.
