GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • The HR Generalist I is responsible for, or shares responsibility, in the execution of administrative and support tasks related to HR Administration. The following is required to be a successful candidate - 1 to 3 Yrs. Working for a Gov't contractor in HR, HRIS system experience, and a bachelor's degree.

DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Enter new hires and terminations in HRIS system
  • Verify new hire employment eligibility through E-Verify.
  • Provide administrative support to others in the HR Department, as needed.
  • Meet with hiring managers to work through employee discussions
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
  • Prepare and post jobs to appropriate job boards, colleges, and other reliable sources
  • Assess applicants' relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
  • General Human Resources administration, including assistance in process for hiring, terminations, promoting or evaluating personnel, and unemployment documentation
  • Partner with Supervisors/Managers and Operations Manager to manage and develop employees
  • Assist with facilitating, coordinating, and completing required internal training programs for employees (new and current), including orientation, process changes and updates, and any other training needs
  • Maintain accurate and complete personnel records
  • Assist in the administration of 90 day and annual performance reviews
  • Coordinate and conduct random drug testing.
  • Conduct legal research and provide an accurate synopsis when required
  • Conduct internal audits and provide support during various external audits.
  • Work in a team environment
  • Work on special projects.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of experience working for a Government Contractor in Human Resources Department Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field is Required. Experience may be substituted.
  • Strong math and writing skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must.
  • HRIS and Applicant Tracking system experience is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, energetic, and able to partner effectively with HR team and leadership to gain their respect and trust

  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
  • On occasion must be able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
  • Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
