As a key member of the finance department, you bring impeccable knowledge of GAAP standards, coupled with strong technical accounting skills, and uphold the highest levels of accuracy and integrity in all financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting activities, coordinating month-end close processes, and providing strategic analysis to support the Company’s financial objectives.

Day-to-Day as Assistant Controller:

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded for an accurate and efficient month-end close.
• Own all reconciliation for bank accounts, inventory, and accounts payable & receivable.
• Review all landed cost entries to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop annual budgets and forecasts and monitor variances to support strategic planning.
• Work in NetSuite ERP and MS Excel to achieve day-to-day accounting functions.
• Produce and manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
• Work closely with external auditors during annual audits and reviews.
• Optimize existing accounting operations, systems, and software tools for efficient accounting and financial reporting.

What You Bring as Assistant Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with proven experience at a public accounting firm.
• Accounting experience within retail, manufacturing, and/or e-commerce highly desired.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proven experience executing the month-end close process within departmental deadlines.
• Proficiency in NetSuite ERP, with legacy to cloud-based ERP migration experience a big plus.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including use of pivot tables and VLOOKUPS.
• Excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and self-accountability.
• Willingness to work on-site in Gardena, CA.
