DESCRIPTION:

As a Business Unit Controller at Fisk Electric, reporting to The CFO, you will have the opportunity to:

• This will include a mix of leadership and hands on work, the Controller will be focused on completing month and quarter end financial statements, working with senior leadership on job costing, cashflow and budget projections and leading financial personnel
• This person will be responsible for processing the financial activities of the organization to maximize company’s profits and plan for its growth
• The role includes analyzing data and advising top executives on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organization’s future
• Ensure strong fiscal and business procedures are in place across the organization and work to continually improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross-team processes
• Manage all accounting and finance transactions
• Prepare annual operating budget and periodic forecast updates, working closely with business unit leaders
• Tracking of actual performance against those forecasts/budgets on a monthly basis
• Evaluate financial implications of business decisions and provide advice/recommendations to CEO and executive team
• Oversight responsibility for approval of cash disbursements
• Serve as lead resource for accounting as well as operations personnel for questions/support of ERP software
• Coordinate all aspects of annual financial statement audit
• Supervisory responsibility for annual worker’s compensation and general liability audit

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA or MBA
• Construction accounting experience 2 to 5 years (percentage completion method) required
• 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, including 5 years of supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards preferred
• Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills (strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are required)
