Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Director for our Manufacturing client to lead their Human Resources department in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, ensuring the smooth operation and strategic development of our human resources initiatives. This full-time role will play a critical part in shaping the people-centric aspects of their business, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Solutions Management: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive benefits programs that attract and retain top talent. Evaluate and negotiate with benefits providers to secure the best options for employees.
  • Negotiation Skills: Leverage strong negotiation skills to manage vendor relationships and contracts effectively. Negotiate employee agreements and manage conflict resolution.
  • Employee Recruitment, Relations, and Retention: Develop and execute effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Foster positive employee relations and implement retention strategies to reduce turnover. Oversee performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
  • HRIS System Identification: Lead the selection and implementation of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Ensure the system meets the needs of the organization and integrates seamlessly with other business systems.
  • Employee Training and Onboarding: Design and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires. Develop and manage ongoing training and professional development programs for all employees.
  • Benefits, HR Law, and Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Manage and oversee all employee benefits programs and policies. Serve as the primary contact for all legal issues related to HR.
  • Process and Procedure Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve HR processes and procedures. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the HR department.
  • Cleanup Work: Address and resolve any existing HR-related issues or challenges. Ensure all HR records and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with legal requirements.
  • People Management: Champion a positive organizational culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, providing guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Backup Payroll Person: Serve as the backup for payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payroll operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Manufacturing or related industry experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with HRIS systems selection process preferred.

Working Conditions:
