As an Operations Manager, you are the "Boots on the Ground" of the entire branch from the moment the phone rings to when a truck drives out of the yard loaded with equipment or returns with equipment. You will leverage your leadership and management skills to coordinate and direct branch operations (Yard, Inside Sales, Dispatch, and CDL employees) to ensure quality service and maximize productivity. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will provide the supervision needed to ensure safety, branch metric performance, and rental flow efficiency, while contributing to world-class sales and customer service offered by TRENCH-ADE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and responsibilities with TRENCH-ADE's CARES Values at the forefront.
- Support Branch Managers in implementing actions to achieve financial objectives.
- Assist Branch Managers in ensuring compliance with all company policies.
- Drive metrics by monitoring scorecard items, determining root causes and opportunities for improvement, providing coaching and feedback to staff, and making recommendations for corrective actions.
- Create, adjust, and monitor SOPs.
- Manage the process of rental quotations, reservations, and contracts in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring that staff are trained and compliant with the Rental Flow Process; drive profitability by monitoring and controlling costs.
- Handle all day-to-day operational activities while motivating, coaching, and training personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability, and communication.
- Become an expert in TRENCH-ADE products and services to assess each customer’s needs effectively.
- Maintain a high degree of sales professionalism through independent study and reading.
- Ensure delivery and rental fleet is in safe and compliant operating conditions.
- Keep the yard and dispatch office clean and organized at all times.
- Review daily and weekly driver logs per company and DOT standards.
- Ensure drivers perform daily truck inspections and operate safely and courteously according to company and DOT guidelines.
- Create and monitor driver schedules.
- Perform any and all other duties assigned.

- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OSHA regulations.

Position Type/Expected Hours
- This is a full-time position.
- Occasional evenings and weekends.
- Work hours will vary and need to be fulfilled as needed to complete the job in a timely manner.
- Monitor on-call and after-hours orders and deliveries.
Travel
- Must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary).
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required; formal education is preferred.
- Three years of CDL driving experience with heavy shoring equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction, trench safety, or related equipment.
- Excellent computer skills are required.
Certifications, Licenses, and Requirements
- A valid CDL license with the appropriate class and endorsements for heavy equipment is preferred.
- A clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required and must maintain a clean record.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P as it pertains to excavation safety is preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 as it pertains to confined space entry is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate in English. The ability to speak another language is a plus.
- Other certifications, licenses, and requirements are assigned as needed.
